Reading Diagnosis and Remediation
The course is a study of diagnostic and remedial reading
principles and technique designed to help students identify and
overcome weakness discovered in any aspect of the reading process.

Creative Writing (Essay and Essay Writing)
The course is a study of the types of essay and essay writing,
stressing their essential features and characteristics with a view
of developing in the students the ability to write essays using the
reading solutions as models.

Campus Journalism
The course provides students a comprehensive guide on the making
of a campus paper from writing articles to proof reading and editing
to lay-cutting and publishing. Discussions one ethics and laws on
the press and a style guide are also included to complete the
course.

1 Human Development and Learning
Patterns of Human Development from conception up to adulthood
with emphasis on the intellectual, social, moral and emotional
development on the individual, and an understanding on how to deal
more effectively with individuals of various levels of growth and
development through a study of the different theories of human
development and learning.

A synthesis of fundamental psychological, sociological and
anthropological data and principles as applied in education, skills
and techniques in understanding the scientific principle of human
behaviors, and the ability to touch the lives of young people; to
make them active agents to change and to instill on them the
worthwhile Filipino values needed in fast changing society.

The philosophy, history and development of educational theory
and practice as they relate to the national goals and ideals of
education are the basic concepts of this course. It includes a
comprehensive discussion of the Philippine educational system and
its legal aspects.

The course includes the principles of test construction,
measurement and evaluation of educational out comes.

5 Educational Technology
This course includes the objectives and role of educational
technology for effective classroom activities and learning, which
includes laboratory experiences in the planning, preparation,
evaluation and utilization of instructional materials.

6 Social Philosophy 1 (Intro to Social Philosophy with
Human Rights Concepts)
The structure of society, the family, the educational system,
the economic life of the people, the political set-up and the
religious affiliation of people are the main topics of this course.
It also focuses on the ideas, beliefs, doctrines, customs and
traditions, laws, and rules that are inherent and associated with
each of these social and political institutions. Human rights
concepts are emphasized. Eastern and Western philosophies that
influenced Philippine education are also included.

7 Principles and Methods of Teaching
The course deals with the general principles and methods of
teaching in secondary schools, development of instructional plans,
classroom, management and supervision, and remedial teaching.

8 Social Philosophy 11 (General & Professional Ethics)
The course deals with the study of different kinds of values but
great importance is given to human values. General and professional
ethical principles and situations involving teachers’ relationships
with various groups of people are also discussed in this course.

9 Educational Research
Basic procedures in planning, conducting and preparing research
report. Statistics will be used as tools for the treatment of
data. Final output will be a baby thesis which the student has to
defend.

Guidance and Counseling
A general area of the entire guidance program with emphasis on
structure principles, methods, techniques, tools and instruments of
guidance and counseling at the secondary levels is the primary
consideration of this course.

Community Immersion
Supervision off-campus filed work with out-off school youth
projects, non-formal education program, basic and applied nutrition
and other related projects in the community.

Teaching Strategies
Approaches and thrusts in teaching Communication, Mathematics,

this course. It also includes field observation and micro-teaching.

Non-Formal Education
This course deals with consumer education, arts and crafts and
other home making and income generating projects/activities. It
focuses on productivity, gainful occupation and entrepreneurship.

Student Teaching (Observation and Participation)
The course is designed to five students the opportunity to do
campus observations of actual classroom situations where they can
observe how educational principles, concepts and theories are put
into practice. More so, the students are accorded the opportunity to
participate in classroom teaching to demonstrate their instructional
and classroom management skills.
